I have 25 years experience as a Registered Nurse in the fields of Neonatology and Clinical Triage. 17 of those years were spent in leadership and education. This included 5 years writing curriculum, teaching and running an LVN program. Creating an entire Simulation Nursing Education Program with unique power points, scenarios and training materials.
Patient and Family Centered care have always been a passion of mine. I created and facilitated a Family Centered Care Committee for the Women's and Children's Department for 10 years. We advocated, and implemented changes in policies and bedside care that helped to ensure the treatment of the family unit as a whole, allowing for patient involvement in decision making and goal setting.
